Alternative provision at Spring Lane pupils cooking

Alternative Provision

As part of our Enhanced and Targeted curriculum offer, we do commission Alternative Provision if it is in the best interests of the pupils needs, personal development and curriculum.

All our APs undergo annual reviews to ensure that they are suitable and safe, this is an addition to continual and logged visits from leadership, teaching assistants and youth workers that engage and support our young people at these providers.

As part of our safeguarding arrangements, we ensure that all our providers have:

  • A Designated Safeguarding Lead
  • A Safeguarding Policy
  • A Whistleblowing Policy
  • A Health and Safety Policy
  • An Equality Policy / Charter
  • First Aiders
  • Appropriate Risk Assessments
  • Appropriate outcomes

We monitor attendance to any Alternative Provider daily and all our pupils come under our Attendance Policy and Safeguarding procedures

Our annual review paperwork (Quality Assurance) can be found in the links & downloads section of this page.

Our providers are not utilised as full-time provision, and where provision exceeds 17 hours for our young people, this will be with registered education providers, such as Bury College, Edstart Schools and Craig Ormerod Associates.
